Happy Almost Spring Everyone!

A group of us just returned from the 2022 annual CSNO state conference, Navigating Change: Riding the Tide with Vision, Skill and Confidence! this year in Monterey, CA. It was very successful with about 440 nurses in attendance. All COVID precautions were in place, and it appeared that everyone had a wonderful time. Personally, it was a much-needed time to connect with everyone and reenergize! If you have never attended one of our state conferences, and even if you have, please consider joining us next year. The 2023 Annual Conference Moving Forward Rejuvenated and Resilient, will be held from February 16-19, 2023, just a drive away in Riverside, CA.

Jackie Stiles, Ramona School District was sworn in as our new President. Her term begins in July 2022. I will become your Past President and Chic Carter, San Diego Unified School District, our current Treasurer has accepted the role of incoming President- Elect. Maggie West, Francis Parker School, will be finishing up her term as Past President in July. She has brought so much knowledge, grace, and positivity to our group over the last six years, it is difficult to say goodbye. Rumor has it though, she isn’t going too far! Thank you, Maggie, for all you have done!

Jackie Stiles was also awarded our section’s Nurse Excellence Award and Jenny Alfonso, San Diego Unified School District, was awarded our section’s Nurse Administrator of the Year at the Roaring 20’s Dance. That explains the costumes in the photos below. These awards are well deserved! Congratulations to you both!

Congratulations to us! San Diego-Imperial Section was awarded the 2020-2021 Section with the Greatest Percentage increase in membership. This says a lot about the support our state and local section has offered our members during the “COVID years”!
